Renewable solutions provider, Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. (UK Branch) received nationwide acclaim for a pioneering educational programme which aims to teach young energy consumers of tomorrow all about renewable technologies.
The branch has been offering its Hatfield headquarters as a teaching resource to schools to help pupils understand the importance of adopting 'the 3 R's' – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The scheme, which is called 'The Learning Curve,' involves schoolchildren visiting the company's Renewable Training Centre for a morning session which is specifically designed to fit seamlessly into the curriculum.
The initiative recently secured first prize in the Training Excellence category of The National Heat Pump Awards – an annual celebration of the best that the renewable sector has to offer. The judges called the programme, "an inspirational, exciting and totally new way to stimulate interest in renewable technology in our future workforce".
